Dong Bei Restaurant & Bar signs 2,000 s/f lease at New Hyde Park Place

New Hyde Park, NY Dong Bei Restaurant & Bar, which serves Northeastern Chinese cuisine inspired by Harbin, China, signed a lease for a 2,000 s/f space at New Hyde Park Place, adding another dining option to the center’s growing collection of restaurants.

The lease was signed on October 23, 2026. Dong Bei is targeting an opening in early 2027, with sit-down dining and takeout planned for customers.

“Dong Bei brings a distinctive style of Chinese cuisine to New Hyde Park Place and adds to the variety of dining experiences available to our neighbors and the people who work and visit nearby,” said Jason Sobel, broker with RIPCO Real Estate. “We’re excited to welcome an established restaurant operator as we continue to invest in the property and build a destination for the community.”

Dong Bei has established locations in Manhattan and Jersey City. The New Hyde Park Place location represents an opportunity to introduce its cuisine to a new Long Island audience.

“We’re excited to bring the flavors of Northeastern China to New Hyde Park and share the dishes that have made Dong Bei a destination for our customers,” said Kevin, owner of Dong Bei Restaurant & Bar locations across the New York City region. “We look forward to welcoming the local community and offering a place where people can enjoy a meal together or pick up something to take home.”

Sobel and Benjamin Namdar of KSR Realty co-brokered the lease transaction.

“Dong Bei is a strong addition to New Hyde Park Place and reflects the opportunity for established restaurant operators to reach customers in this market,” said Namdar. “We’re pleased to have worked with all parties to bring this transaction together.”

The lease signing comes as improvements continue at New Hyde Park Place. Work on the building’s façade has been completed, and installation of new fencing is underway. Additional signage is planned, along with parking lot improvements after the winter.

The collection or restaurants at New Hyde Park Place, which includes Tous Les Jours, Soy or Spicy, Guac Shop and Buffalo Wild Wings GO, offers dining options, including for the doctors, nurses, employees and families who spend time at the nearby Long Island Jewish Medical Center campus, including Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Katz Women’s Hospital.

Redefine Meals, which also recently signed a lease, is expected to open this fall as well.
