July 27, 2015 - Front Section
Thomas Partners Properties (TPP) revealed a first of its kind Wellness Village real estate development called The Oasis in LA County. The Oasis will offer a continuum of care adjacent to Palmdale Regional Medical Center. TPP is collaborating with nationally renowned leaders in healthcare to provide safe, reliable and branded healthcare providers. Groundbreaking is expected in June of 2016.
The Oasis is a 420,000 s/f development project across 17.5 acres.
that includes multiple districts to promote health and wellness to provide the entire continuum of care in addition to hospitality, retail and dining opportunities for Los Angeles County residents. The over $200 million project will create thousands of new good paying jobs for the area and provide a variety of proposed public amenities and public infrastructure improvements to enhance the overall project look and feel including a public pavilion, parking and circulation amenities, park, pedestrian areas, signage, decor, and landscaping.

City of Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford stated, "The Oasis Wellness Village is a true health care success story. We have a healthcare crisis in the Antelope Valley, and The Oasis is turning that crisis into an opportunity to promote better health and better healthcare for everyone."

Thomas Partners Properties President John Thomas, "This is the future of healthcare in America. The Oasis Wellness Village brings together the world's finest physicians with everything from imaging and physical therapy to yoga and farmers markets ... a true integration of health and wellness."

"We have been pleased to have had extensive conversations with our neighbor, Palmdale Regional Hospital, and are hopeful they will be an active participant in The Oasis. Based on our meetings it is clear our vision at TPP is consistent with the hospital's long term master plan. We look forward to working together with Palmdale Regional Hospital and the City to help make The Oasis become a reality."

"The people of LA County deserve nothing but the best level of care. The Oasis form and function platform is intended to provide much needed community services and amenities, which will help everyone from babies to boomers stay well and receive the best care possible," continued Thomas.

Thomas continued, "As a community we must strive to promote wellness by encouraging healthy lifestyles and better access to cutting edge and affordable healthcare. The Oasis is a giant a step in the right direction."

Currently, based on the California Medical Association standards of doctor to patient ratios, the Antelope Valley is in a healthcare crisis being dramatically underserved. More than double the amount of doctors are needed to fix the problem. The Oasis has the potential to alleviate some of that pressure by recruiting numerous doctors to the area from some of the country's most prestigious health care brands.

Michael Kim, healthcare principal at HKS architects and lead designer of The Oasis said, "The Oasis is a first of its kind wellness village and should serve as a model for healthcare distribution nationally."

"The Oasis is going to change the game in the healthcare industry," continued Michael Kim.

Thomas said, "In light of shrinking margins, the Accountable Care Act, aging baby boomers and newly insureds we must change how healthcare is delivered, putting the patient first. With the Oasis we plan to offer the most cutting edge healthcare technologies with our primary focus on the customer and the community."

"The City is thrilled and incredibly supportive of The Oasis. Our residents need more and better access to healthcare. This project is a huge boon and welcome addition to our community," continued Mayor Ledford.

The Oasis is about caring for individuals, families and the community. It will be a village, a place to nurture wellness. The Oasis is introducing new technologies from streamlining check in with RFID "Smart Check In" to providing a spa like environment for visitors to relax, be well and enjoy their experience.
