Eastern Consolidated arranged a long-term, 5,100 s/f lease for Hudson Market, a new gourmet food market concept by Terence Park at 303 Tenth Ave. in West Chelsea. The market's ground-floor retail space is complemented by 800 additional s/f on the basement level and located at the base of a new 89-unit, residential rental building known as Port 10, which is just south of Hudson Yards, adjacent to the 28th St. entrance for The High Line, and faces Chelsea Park.
Opening this fall, Hudson Market is Park's sixth culinary venture to open in Manhattan, which will resemble his existing Bread & Butter eatery chain with additional offerings by Greg Grossman, chef prodigy and founder of restaurant consultancy Culinaria Group.
The new concept includes an organic grocery and produce section, coffee bar by Intelligentsia Coffee, hand-crafted juice bar, deli, carvery section with products from local purveyors, and freshly-baked goods from artisan vendors. Hudson Market will also feature a restaurant with a daily-changing menu of dishes made with fair trade ingredients, and specialty vegetarian dishes by Greg Grossman.
"Inspired by the energy of British markets and aesthetic of European food halls, Hudson Market will be a sensational food experience and an incredible amenity for West Chelsea," saidAlexander Hill, Senior Director in the Retail Leasing Division for Eastern Consolidated, who represented the tenant in the transaction. "Hudson Market is the first large culinary market catering to residents living in 303 Tenth Avenue and new adjacent developments by Related Companies and Avalon Bay."
"We are very excited to have Terence and Hudson Market as a tenant at Port 10. This concept is exactly what the area has been waiting for and we feel that everyone in the neighborhood and building will profit from its presence," said Joshua Young, Vice President for 303 Tenth Avenue's ownership, Atlantic Development Group.
Neighboring tenants include Velour Lounge, Paul Kasmin Gallery, Marquee, The Drunken Horse, and The Red Cat, among others. Hudson Market will join Heller Gallery - which took the remaining 3,000 square feet on the ground floor - to complete 303 Tenth Avenue's commercial tenant roster.
