Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid, P.C. has added two partners to the roster of the firm's attorneys, Steven Block and Amy Shane Silver.
Block practices in the areas of trusts and estates and taxation, and Shane Silver's focus is on real estate transactions.
Managing partner Ralph Rosella said, "We are pleased to announce the appointments of Steven Block and Amy Shane Silver as partner. They bring a level of professionalism and expertise that has been the hallmark of our firm."
Block, a resident of North Bellmore who previously served as of counsel to the firm, has been named chair of the trusts and estates practice group. He advises clients on all aspects of estate and elder law planning, including the preparation of wills and trusts, and sophisticated tax and insurance planning. In addition, he assists clients in implementing intricate gift tax planning, including Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, and Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts. He also provides counsel on probate matters, estate administration and tax planning relating thereto, and Surrogate's Court proceedings.
Block is also a Certified Public Accountant and has extensive experience advising business clients on the organization, sale and liquidation of business entities. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo (B.S., Magna Cum Laude, 1980) and Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco (J.D., 1985). He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and California.
Shane Silver, a resident of Woodbury, is a partner in the firm's real estate practice group. She has extensive experience in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including office, retail, restaurant and industrial leasing and subleasing for landlords, tenants, sub-landlords and sub-tenants, acquisition and disposition of a wide range of commercial buildings, and the representation of leading U.S. and international financial institutions, funds, property owners, banks and investors in real estate financing.
Shane Silver is a graduate of Cornell University (M.P.A., 1994, B.S., 1993) and the University of Pennsylvania, (J.D., 1997). She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is a member of the New York State Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Silver was a partner with the firms Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe and DLA Piper US, LLP.
