Albany, NY On August 13, DHCR and the Albany Housing Authority welcomed residents of the 128-unit Creighton Storey Homes in Albany's South End neighborhood back to their newly renovated homes. Festivities included a neighborhood picnic and official ribbon cutting.

Several years and $16 million after ground was broken, officials marked the opening of the retooled Creighton Storey Homes.

The new look of the Third Ave. housing complex is considered a key part of the ongoing renewal of the city's South End.

Among those attending Monday's event, which included music and youth activities, were Mayor Jerry Jennings, Common Council member Carolyn McLaughlin, Albany county legislator Lucille McKnight and Brian Lawlor, executive deputy commissioner of the state Division of Housing and Community Renewal.
