Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board to hold 2026 annual meeting on June 23rd

Valhalla, NY As New York’s clean energy sector accelerates, Westchester and Putnam counties are bringing together employers, educators, workforce leaders and job seekers to tackle a critical question: how do we build the talent pipeline needed to support the region’s growing green economy?

On Tuesday, June 23, the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board (WPWDB) will host its 2026 annual meeting at Westchester Community College focused on “Building the Clean Energy Talent Machine: Aligning Training with Opportunity.”

The event will explore how local workforce systems, training providers and employers can better align around emerging opportunities in renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation and related industries.

Attendees will hear from clean energy and workforce development leaders Angela Son, CEO of The Green Launchpad, and Antuan Cannon, vice president of talent development and innovation at Willdan Energy Solutions, who will provide insights into workforce trends shaping the future of the industry locally and statewide.

The program will also feature interactive breakout discussions for:
• Job seekers and community members exploring green career pathways
• Employers focused on hiring challenges and workforce incentives
• Workforce and education professionals working to strengthen system alignment

County executives Ken Jenkins and Kevin Byrne will also speak to the economic and workforce opportunities tied to the region’s evolving energy landscape.

The event is free and open to the public. Breakfast will be served.
