Zelson of Charter Realty and Stassa of Royal Properties collaborate in 25,000 s/f lease to Home Goods; Kempner Corp. is landlord

Mount Kisco, NY HomeGoods plans to open a new store on the site of Party City and the former Annie Sez on Main St. sometime in the second quarter of 2019. The discount home furnishings chain store has signed a 25,000 s/f lease at 3 Main St. downtown, near the train station.

Dan Zelson of Charter Realty represented Home Goods while Rick Stassa of Royal Properties represented the landlord, The Kempner Corp.

Kempner Corp. plans to renovate the building with a new façade, store front, roof, building systems and parking lot.

“This is a big economic boost to the area that is going to be a terrific retail anchor for the village,” said Peter Kempner, a principal of the White Plains-based commercial real estate company, The Kempner Corp. that owns the property. “HomeGoods is one of the most heavily sought-after retail tenants in the country.”

HomeGoods has other Westchester locations in White Plains, Mahopac, Port Chester, Yonkers and Pelham. The national chain offers customers home fashions from around the world, typically at prices between 20 and 60 percent below department store and specialty store regular prices.

The lease was signed last November but was not official until the owners obtained final approvals from the Mt. Kisco Planning and Zoning Boards this past spring.
