YM/WREA and Girls Inc. illuminate One World Trade Center for Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day

Manhattan, NY The Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York (YM/WREA) and Girls Inc. celebrated International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by illuminating the One World Trade Center podium. The event brought together real estate professionals from around the industry including female commercial real estate executives, Girls Inc. president and CEO, Dr. Stephanie Hull, Girls Inc. board member Cynthia Medina Carson, and local Girls Inc. participants.

As part of YM/WREA’s commitment to promoting diverse perspectives in the commercial real estate industry and the development of young leaders, the YM/WREA Foundation donated $5,000 to Girls Inc. in honor of their work. The investment supports Girls Inc.’s mission to inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold. 

In collaboration with the Durst Organization and Spire Works, YM/WREA and Girls Inc. illuminated the One World Trade Center podium with graphics provided by Girls Inc. to honor the 114,000 girls served, across 350 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. The podium was lit by Dr. Hull with the support of Girls Inc. girls. 

Sayo Kamara, chairman of YM/WREA said, “We are thrilled to partner with Girls Inc. to support their meaningful work and raise awareness for the impact that they are making on girls’ lives throughout New York City, and around the country. As an association with a deep history and connection to the fabric of commercial real estate thought leadership, we are steadfast in our commitment to providing young professionals with the opportunity to enhance leadership skills and foster long-term business relationships. YM/WREA is proud to support Girls Inc. and its initiatives to develop the next generation of women leaders.”
