Yim promoted to vice president at Mark Design Studios Architecture

Irene Yim

Hicksville, NY Irene Yim was promoted to vice president of Mark Design Studios Architecture (MDS).

“Irene has worked diligently over the years to help elevate MDS to the top of our field in terms of quality of design and service to our clients,” said Michael Mark, president/founder of MDS. “We could not be more confident in elevating her as our first vice president to help lead MDS with her vision, work ethic and outstanding design ability.”

Yim was first hired as a project manager in 2017, and quickly grew into the director of design role in less than a year. During her tenure, she has worked side-by-side with Mark, creating spaces for clients that have had a long-lasting positive impact to its owners and users.

“I am honored and humbled by the promotion to VP and am so excited about the future of our firm,” said Yim.

“I have had the fortune to work with and learned a tremendous amount from Michael in the past few years. We’ve built on each other’s strengths and developed a rapport and trust that is invaluable in the successful operation of the firm.”

Yim has overseen the design and construction of some of MDS’ most recognized and signature projects:

• The historical restoration of the Lawrence Middle School Broadway Campus, reviving the 1920s WPA school building into a vibrant and elegant learning and community-based building with its Art Deco grandeur and 21st century modern amenities.

• The recently completed addition to the Plainedge High School Cafeteria and Commons, a 7,000 s/f space that includes booth seating with built-in charging stations and tables that offer areas for small groups to gather, eat and study together.

“I will continue our commitment to great design and client services while elevating and mentoring emerging professionals. I look forward to serving the company in the new capacity.”
