WMBC-TV relocates broadcasting to One World Trade Center

New York, NY The Durst Organization announced that WMBC-TV has signed a 10-year lease to relocate from Montclair, New Jersey to One World Trade Center.  In August WMBC-TV will join 10 other New York City area stations, including CBS2 NY (WCBS-TV), NBC 4 New York (WNBC) and FOX 5 New York (WNYW), already broadcasting full-time from One World Trade Center. The One World Trade Center broadcast facility provides television stations with optimal coverage in New York City and is engineered will full redundancy of all critical systems for maximum reliability.

“We are thrilled to have WMBC broadcast from One World Trade Center,” said Jonathan Durst, president of The Durst Organization. “OWTC is the zenith of broadcasting for the tri-state area, and we look forward to adding another station to its dial in 2022.”

Senior vice president of Business & Strategic Partnerships Robert Becker and director of broadcast communications Marc Musgrove of The Durst Organization handled negotiations for Durst Broadcasting LLC with Robert M. Kessler, member, and Jean S. Tom, of counsel, of Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. representing The Durst Organization in the transaction.

Built by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and The Durst Organization in a unique public-private partnership, One World Trade Center looks to set a new standard of design, construction, and prestige. Bringing a wealth of private sector experience to One World Trade Center, The Durst Organization is responsible for marketing, leasing, and managing the property.
