Weiss of T. Weiss Realty arranges 6,888 s/f lease to Customers Bank; Schindler of Serten Advisors represents tenant

A suburban Philadelphia bank has signed a lease for what will be its first office on Long Island. Customers Bank, of Wyomissing, Pa., leased 6,888 s/f of class A office space from T. Weiss Realty Corp. at 324 S. Service Rd. for a lending office. The new office is expected to open in February and will act as a National Small Business Administration (SBA) loan production office as well as a private/commercial banking office. Customers Bank is a business and personal bank principally focused on four lending activities; commercial and industrial loans to privately held businesses, multifamily loans principally to high net worth families in the NYC area, selected commercial real estate loans, and banking services to privately held mortgage companies. "We have observed a recent movement of several financial service firms into the Melville area from other locations on Long Island, as well as neighboring states," said Ted Weiss, CEO of T. Weiss Realty. "With multiple storefront and back-end bank uses already located along the Rte. 110 corridor, this industry continues to grow and thrive in Melville, and supporting industries will certainly follow suit. We look forward to the continued growth of the Melville area and the development of Customers Bank on Long Island." Adam Schindler, a senior vice president of Vienna, Virginia-based Serten Advisors, represented Customers Bank in arranging the lease. Craig Weiss, managing director of T. Weiss, represented the landlord in-house. "We are extremely pleased to build out our SBA national office along with our private/commercial bank in Melville, Long Island," said Kevin Gallagher, Customers Bank SBA national director and senior vice president said. "We are looking forward to working with local business owners and helping them grow while creating jobs in the local marketplace. It's an exciting time for Customers Bank and we are thrilled about the opportunity we have." The bank has been operating since November in temporary offices at T. Weiss's TOTUS executive suite affiliate at 105 Maxess Rd. The building where the bank is locating and known as Melville Corporate Center III (MCC III), also houses the Long Island headquarters of TD Bank, as well as the Long Island offices of Janney Montgomery Scott, Jones Lang LaSalle and Ameriprise Financial, among others. The Customers Bank lease brings occupancy at the building to 98 percent. The bank has been operating since November in temporary offices at T.
