Dattner Architects, known for design excellence and civic engagement, has promoted three.Ernesto Vela AIA and Brian Nesin AIA are new associates of the firm, and Patricia Kettle AIA is now a senior associate. As members of the associates group, they help manage the 70 person firm's diverse portfolio of urban projects.
Ernesto Vela AIA, associate, joined Dattner Architects in 2008 and has worked on a variety of institutional, residential, and commercial projects. He was the project manager for the West Farms Redevelopment Plan and is now designing the first two buildings within the 17-acre site. Vela holds a bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and a bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is a licensed architect in New York and a member of the Planning and Urban Design Committee of the AIA New York Chapter.
Brian Nesin AIA, LEED AP, associate, joined Dattner Architects in 2006. He is the project manager for the Westchester Children's Museum and project architect for PS/ IS 342M Riverside Center School.
Nesin holds a master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a bachelor of arts in English Literature from Yale University. He is a licensed architect in New York and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Patricia Kettle AIA, senior associate, joined Dattner Architects in 2005, became an associate in 2008 and a senior associate in 2011. She is the project manager on the 7 Subway Line Extension Project, an integral part of the New York City Department of City Planning Redevelopment plan for the far West Side of Manhattan, terminating at a final subway station at 34th and 11th Ave. Kettle holds a bachelor of architecture from Syracuse University, and is a licensed architect in Colorado.
