USGBC-LI elects 2009 executive board at November meeting

At the board meeting on November 11, USGBC-LI elected the members of its 2009 executive board. Art Desin, of the Workplace Group, who is currently the vice chair, will be taking over as chairman of the chapter on January 1. The vice chair position will be given to Vince Capogna, of Polysteel, who chairs the advocacy committee. Michael Gianchetta, of GIANCO Environmental, and Rob Bier, of T.M. Bier and Associates, will retain their posts as secretary and treasurer of the chapter. Elections for the rest of the board will be held in December. Chapter members and other interested parties are invited to attend a Meet the Candidates Night event on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Workplace Group in Hauppauge, where they will be able to listen to speeches from the candidates and meet and mingle with other chapter members.
