Uniland completes transformation of Embassy Suites Buffalo within Avant

Buffalo, NY Uniland Development Company has completed a comprehensive transformation of the Embassy Suites Buffalo within Avant, an award-winning mixed-use building. The revitalization delivers a refreshed, modern guest experience while reinforcing the hotel’s position as a premier destination for conferences, events, and tourism in western New York.

The transformation encompassed all 123 guest suites, along with the hotel lobby, meeting spaces, conference rooms, and common areas. Designed to deliver an authentic “Buffalo experience,” the updates feature a contemporary aesthetic that blends industrial elements with natural materials and locally inspired artwork. Enhancements were planned to support conferences, meetings, weddings, and corporate events, further strengthening the hotel’s appeal in the regional meetings and events market. A new micro market was also added to the hotel lobby.

Work on the hotel was completed in spring 2026, allowing the Embassy Suites Buffalo to welcome guests for marquee events including the NCAA March Madness college basketball tournament at KeyBank Center and the NHL Draft.

Located in the city’s Central Business District, Avant offers walkable access to major venues, employers, and cultural destinations.

“We are proud to continue investing in the future of downtown Buffalo with the reimagining of the Embassy Suites Buffalo,” said Michael Montante, CEO of Uniland Development Company. “This project is more than just an upgrade; it’s about creating a truly unique guest experience that is deeply rooted in the spirit of our city. By blending high-end design with local artistry and enhancing our conference facilities, we are not just refining a building, we are investing in the future of downtown as a vibrant hub for both tourism and business.”

The completed upgrades build upon the Embassy Suites Buffalo’s longstanding reputation as one of the leading hotels in the local market. Since opening in 2009, the property has been recognized for its quality and performance, including receiving Hilton Worldwide’s Best Conversion Award and maintaining strong ratings across leading travel platforms.

As part of the Hilton family of hotels, the Embassy Suites brand is known for its signature amenities, including spacious two room suites, a complimentary made to order breakfast, and a nightly evening reception with drinks and light snacks; offering exceptional value for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel also features flexible meeting and event space supported by on site, full service catering from Bella Ciao, delivering customizable menus for meetings, conferences, and social events.

Located at 200 Delaware Ave., the Avant building was converted by Uniland in 2009 into the city’s first mixed-use development in the Central Business District. In addition to the Embassy Suites Buffalo, the building is home to luxury condominiums, Class A office space, and fine dining Italian restaurant Bella Ciao.
