ULI Westchester/Fairfield District Council honors Spinnaker Real Estate Partners with Arthur Collins Sr. Visionary Award

Rye, NY The ULI Westchester/Fairfield District Council will award the 3rd Arthur Collins Sr. Visionary Award for Leadership in Land Use at an evening reception/gala on November 10, 2016 at the Coveleigh Club.

Arthur Collins Sr., through a career that spanned more than 50 years, developed 3 million s/f of office space plus 1500 residential units and revitalized tired downtowns; thereby creating a legacy that is being continued through this award.  The award was conceived to honor a person, team or organization whose efforts demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of responsible real estate in our region. The award stresses innovation and creative vision as well as the overarching goals and mission of ULI. Past winners include Do Chung, an extraordinary architect, and Robert Weinberg, co-founder of the Robert Martin Company and a pioneer in the region’s development.

This year’s award recipient is Spinnaker Real Estate Partners, one of the most highly regarded development firms in the New York/Fairfield region and the firm’s chairman, Clay Fowler, and president, Kim Morque.

As a second generation company, Spinnaker has been a key contributor to the enhancement of many of the major cities and municipalities in Connecticut, New York and nationwide.

With a steadfast commitment to the highest standards, Spinnaker and its affiliates have acquired and developed more than 3.25 million s/f of commercial and residential real estate. The company’s sustainable and green building urban redevelopment projects focus on creating communities that connect people, housing, business, jobs and recreation. Spinnaker’s goal is to enhance and create viable communities with a sense of place.

Spinnaker has also built over 5,000 multifamily units in three markets in and over the course of five decades. Spinnaker is currently working on an adaptive reuse and historical preservation project in Bridgeport, Connecticut and over 175 units of a housing/mixed use in Stamford, Connecticut, focusing housing in areas where it is most needed. In the process, Spinnaker has received numerous design and planning awards.

Recently, Spinnaker was a key partner in the adaptive reuse development of the Stamford Connecticut Chelsea Piers Campus located at I-95, Exit 9 in Stamford. In the Campus-Stamford, Spinnaker created an innovative, all-encompassing sports, recreation and business complex, at the former Clairol site, comprised of over 7,000,000 square feet. Spinnaker truly embodies the qualities that The Collins Award was designed to recognize.
