U.S. Energy Group and Stuyvesant Fuels joins for interactive roundtable

U.S. Energy Group and Stuyvesant Fuels joined together to bring a distinguished panel of energy experts, property owners and managers to Westchester for an interactive roundtable event on February 13, at the Crowne Plaza. The event started with presentations offering useful cost-saving measures and developed into an interactive exchange of ideas on the best ways to control energy costs, drive buildings to peak operating efficiency and support New York's sustainability goals. Despite winter rain flooding the area streets, the event was filled to capacity, perhaps the horrible weather serving as a reminder of the skyrocketing energy costs this winter. "The event was terrific," said Paul Patenroude of Jantzen Property Development. "I got some really practical ideas about running my buildings more efficiently ... That HVAC guy really knew his stuff about heating systems." The event started with a series of executive overview presentations, including: "Oil & Gas Buying Strategies," by Jim Slattery and Len Camporeale of Stuyvesant Fuels; "HVAC Hot Spots for Big Savings," by Fred Goldner, CEM; "Government Incentives: What's Available," by Tezra White, EME Engineering; and "Fuel Savings: Knowledge is Power," by David Unger, U.S. Energy Group. The panel also offered some "real-world" cautionary tales during a presentation entitled: "Conservation Can Sometimes Be a Waste of Energy." The feature of the event was an open and interactive "Q & A" discussion with the property owners in attendance talking about their real challenges. Participants offered practical solutions for the future and the role of property owners and managers in realizing New York's sustainability initiatives. "We did it again," said Dan Margulies of U.S. Energy Group. "These Roundtables have become a Roadmap to Efficiency for building owners and managers." U.S. Energy Group is the developer of the revolutionary USE Manager Online, which provides property owners and managers with the information and controls they need to steer their buildings toward peak operating efficiency. Stuyvesant Fuels has long been a supporter of reducing fuel use and costs through information and customer education.
