A highlight annual event for St. Francis is the “Golf For Hunger & Pool Party Outing,” held this year at Bonnie Briar Country Club. On Monday, August 24, guests enjoyed a day of golf, lounging by the pool, cocktails on the club’s terrace and a buffet dinner outdoors on the lawn, all to raise a record $475,000. Jim Phillips, founding principal of TPG Architecture, hosted the outing, which honored Gregory Burke, CEO of Lane Office, a major furniture dealer; Burke, a strong believer in giving back to the less fortunate, is known for his extensive philanthropic activities. “This breaks our record for fundraising at the golf outing,” said Phillips.
