TRITEC Real Estate holds ribbon
cutting and groundbreaking at Station Yards

Ronkonkoma, NY The completion of the first phase of residential construction at phase 2A at Station Yards, a $256 million development, was celebrated with a ribbon cutting and groundbreaking event, marking the completion of The Core’s first 388 apartments, 67,000 s/f of retail space, and 16,500 s/f of office space, which now houses TRITEC Real Estate Company’s new headquarters.

Guests, including governor Kathy Hochul, Suffolk County executive Ed Romaine, Brookhaven deputy town supervisor Neil Foley, state senators Dean Murray and Mario Mattera, Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce president Ed McNamara, and USGBC Long Island Chapter president Sammy Chu, shared remarks commemorating this transformative step in the community.

Christopher Kelly, senior vice president of marketing at TRITEC Real Estate Company, said “Today’s ribbon cutting and groundbreaking symbolize the progress and vision for Station Yards as a vibrant, accessible community hub. This development highlights Ronkonkoma’s potential as a premier transit-oriented destination, blending residential, retail, and recreational spaces that enhance quality of life and foster community connections.”

The event also marked the groundbreaking of The Core’s next phase, a $113 million expansion. This expansion will feature an additional 175 residential units, 1,419 s/f of retail, and a dedicated parking structure, addressing Long Island’s demand for housing and mixed-use spaces that enhance community living.

The evening concluded with the “Sample & Support” charity event, drawing over 1,000 attendees who enjoyed food, drinks, and entertainment in support of Long Island Cares and The INN. With $15,000 raised, the event exemplified TRITEC Real Estate Company’s dedication to strengthening communities and supporting families in need.

Attendees were treated to a variety of samples from Station Yards businesses and surrounding local favorites. Station Yards tenants Lucharitos, Tap Room, Toast, Redefine Meals, Cornucopia, Vespa Italian Kitchen and Bar, Great South Bay Brewery, and Artemis Speakeasy were joined by neighborhood eateries such as La Fonda Latino Grill, Irish Times, and Mamma Lombardi’s, among others. A local vendor market featured small businesses such as Tini Rae Boutique, The Pot City, and Barna Bee Honey, offering a curated selection of goods.

Adding to the night’s excitement, Randy Jackson of Zebra, a member of the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame, delivered a memorable live performance. Funds raised through ticket sales and sponsor support will directly benefit Long Island Cares and The INN in providing essential meals and resources to those facing food insecurity.

Kelley Coughlan Heck, executive vice president and partner at TRITEC Real Estate Company,  reflected on the evening’s success, said, “The incredible turnout and generosity from our community highlight the positive impact Station Yards has in Ronkonkoma and beyond. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and to Long Island Cares and The INN for their invaluable work. This evevent’s success is a testament to the strong community spirit in Ronkonkoma.”

Station Yards is a mixed-use development by TRITEC, designed to become a new destination hub for Long Islanders. Located at one of the busiest train stations in Suffolk County, this project is creating thousands of jobs and housing options, positioning Ronkonkoma as a key economic and residential center.

Upon completion, Station Yards will feature 1,450 apartments, 195,000 /f of retail space, and 360,000 s/f of office space. The first phase, Alston Station Yards, was completed in 2020, bringing 489 apartment homes to the community. The current phase, phase 2A, includes 388 apartment homes, 67,000 s/f of retail, 16,500 s/f of office space, and a public plaza. Phase 2B, which began construction this October, will add 175 residential units, 1,419 s/f of retail space, and a dedicated parking structure for residents.
