Giving Back To American Heroes
The team will support the Fund’s efforts to build a set of nine medical diagnostic and treatments centers across the country to help wounded military heroes return from Iraq and Afghanistan who are suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). Currently, the Fund is designing and building satellite centers to expand the outreach of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) by providing advanced care and cutting-edge rehabilitation for veterans overcoming the challenges of TBIs.
“We are just beginning to understand the trauma inflicted on the human brain by concussions caused by combat, and these centers are already doing incredible good for our military men and women,” said Mr. Fisher. “We are racing for them – our service members who have already made incredible sacrifices for us and our freedom. Riding 3,000 miles on a bicycle will be nothing compared to what they have endured for us.”
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund serves United States military personnel wounded or injured in service to our nation, and their families. Supporting these heroes helps repay the debt all Americans owe them for the sacrifices they have made in service to our nation. They are, in the words of our founder, the late Zachary Fisher, “our nation’s greatest national resource,” and they deserve all the help that our nation can provide. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in meeting this important national mission. Begun in 2000 and established as an independent not-for-profit organization in 2003, the Fund has provided close to $150 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans.
