Thornwood Self Storage Center partners with environment education group

Thornwood Self Storage Center (TSSC) has partnered with the Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF), a non-profit educational organization that provides programs and services to support schools in their efforts to integrate sustainability education into K-12 curriculum and culture. In an effort to raise awareness for good environmental practices, TSSC will donate a portion of each month's rentals to CELF's Ecological Footprinting Program, which provides elementary and middle school students the opportunity to conduct an environmental audit on their schools, thereby learning about issues of sustainability and human impact on the planet. To show sustainable practices put into practice in the community, TSSC will host on-site seminars in collaboration with CELF. "This partnership enables us to align ourselves with a cause that is very important to us. Through our work with CELF, we hope to further raise awareness of sound environmental practices. We believe that this education will encourage the younger generation to develop and maintain green practices," said TSSC co-owners Dan Kasman and Michael Gyory. "TSSC is taking bold, visionary steps to not only change the image of storage but to practice environmental sustainability in their facility's design, their operations and their network of partners. With each step, TSSC seeks to educate their client base and help contribute to a brighter future. We look forward to partnering with TSSC on their 'green' endeavors," said Katie Ginsberg, founder and executive director of CELF. During the storage facility's conversion from a health club, 95% of its structure was reused, and construction debris was recycled and reclaimed in an effort to reduce the impact on landfills. Converting the building to a storage facility has reduced traffic congestion and auto emissions by more than 80%. The facility is also powered by 405 rooftop solar panels that are projected to provide over 50% of its ongoing energy needs. Thornwood Self Storage is located at 950 Broadway, Thornwood, NY, and is easily accessible from the Saw Mill River and Sprain Brook Pwys.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
