The Moinian Group arranges the 11,500 s/f lease of Market Diner

After being closed for over two years, the Market Diner at the corner of 43rd St. and 11th Ave. has reopened under new management after signing a long-term lease with the property owner, The Moinian Group, according to Daniel Gohari, VP and director of leasing at The Moinian Group. The new owners, James Athanasopoulos, Elias and John Tsinias, operate several other diners in the area, including the Cosmic Diner on 52nd St. and Eighth Ave. They were attracted to the 11,500 s/f site at 587 Eleventh Ave. due to the area's growing residential development. The Moinian Group represented both the owner and the tenant.

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
