The Janus Property Company hosts delegation for tour of Innovation Triangle-West Harlem

Manhattan, NY The Janus Property Company and J.P. Morgan Asset Management hosted the mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, and a 60-person delegation of influential life sciences, health, and deep tech companies and not-for-profit organizations for an introduction to Innovation Triangle-West Harlem and the industry leaders, researchers, and visionaries that are transforming it into a hub for innovation. 

The delegation’s visit highlighted the connections being made between West Harlem’s important research institutions, businesses and not-for-profits, especially in the life sciences, health/medical and deep tech arenas and underscored the importance of Innovation Triangle-West Harlem as a model for public-private-community focused innovation. The event featured a tour of the Taystee Lab Building, the Jerome Greene Lab Building, and the City College of New York that form part of the walkable urban campus that Janus has developed within the neighborhood. 

Attendees heard from Dr. Stefan Franzke, CEO, Berlin partner for business and technology; Maria Gotsch, president and CEO of the Partnership Fund for New York City; Eric Wald, managing director, JP Morgan; Sam Sia, PhD, Vice provost of Columbia University; Andrea Califano, PhD, president of the Chan-Zuckerberg Biohub New York; Daphna Shohamy, PhD, director and CEO of Columbia’s Zuckerman Institute; Rein Ulijn, PhD, founding director Nanoscience Initiative, CUNY Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), Tavis Ezell, director of business at CUNY ASRC and Andoni Moudoukoutas, City Innovation Collaborative of the City College of New York. 

Scott Metzner, founder and principal of Janus Property Company shared, “We were honored to have Mayor Wegner and his delegation join us to explore how West Harlem is developing into a major hub for innovation and creativity in STEAM. This visit was an incredible opportunity to form and strengthen international connections and open the door for future partnerships that will drive both Berlin and New York City into the future of technology, healthcare, and economic growth.”
