The Gotham Organization and Handel Architects unveils The Maybury - 453 units

August 27, 2024 - Design / Build

Manhattan, NY The Gotham Organization revealed the details of its newest residential rental development, The Maybury, located at 550 Tenth Ave. in the Hudson Yards neighborhood. The 46-story tower will include 453 total residences with 315 market-rate homes and 137 affordable homes. The ground floor will feature approximately 9,000 s/f of retail space, while two podium floors are dedicated to a 26,764 s/f office condo that Gotham has conveyed to Covenant House, to be used as its new international administrative headquarters. Gotham has engaged Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing as their exclusive leasing agent for the market-rate residences, with leasing expected to launch fall 2024.

The Maybury will feature a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom residences. Designed by Handel Architects, each residence has been appointed with luxury quartz countertops, panelized top-of-the-line appliances and window treatments. The residences will also feature ceiling heights that offer panoramic city and river views.

In addition to the studio to two-bedroom luxury rentals, The Maybury will have 28 Abode by Gotham residences, Gotham’s collection of micro-units which debuted at their Lower East Side development, The Suffolk. The Abode by Gotham residences will measure between 315 to 350 s/f and feature a built-in Murphy Bed, sofa, and storage. Gotham residents will have access to all amenities within the building under a club membership, as well as resident storage and laundry facilities.

The Maybury’s upscale indoor and outdoor amenity spaces are designed for socializing and entertaining. Residents will have a 45th-floor cocktail lounge, outdoor terraces with lounge seating, an amenity suite with co-working spaces, and an indoor/outdoor fitness club and yoga studio. Additional services offered include a 24-hour staffed lobby, a package room, resident storage and a bike room as well as access to Gotham Living concierge services and an unmatched suite of lifestyle services, resident events, and neighborhood perks.

“We are thrilled to introduce The Maybury to New York City,” said Bryan Kelly, president of development at Gotham Organization. “Hudson Yards is an exceptional neighborhood in New York City,  one that offers unmatched access to some of the best restaurants, retail and office space. Through our curated amenity offerings and upscale interior designs, we have crafted an extraordinary experience at The Maybury and look forward to the launch of leasing this fall.”

“We wanted to create something for Gotham at The Mayberry that was both iconic and modern, and that would fit into this neighborhood and context. The building is expressed in sculpted brick red metal, with subtle shifts in the panels that create a dynamic feel while reinforcing a residential scale. This sense of scale is further expressed by the double-height punched windows that celebrate the idea of each of these apartments as individual homes. A glass ribbon traces through the façade from the top of the tower down to the building entrance, which is framed with a decorative glass surround,” said Gary Handel, FAIA, managing partner of Handel Architects.

“After successfully working together on prior projects, we are pleased that The Gotham Organization has entrusted Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing to handle marketing and leasing for The Maybury, a premier new rental development in coveted Hudson Yards,” said Stephen Kliegerman, president of Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing.

Located in the Hudson Yards neighborhood, The Maybury offers access to nearby restaurants, retail and offices for top companies including Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, Amazon, and L’Oreal, among others.
