T.M Bier completes monitoring system for Ronald McDonald House

T.M. Bier & Associates have completed a video monitoring and recording system project on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House N.Y., a non-profit organization providing a temporary "home-away-from-home" for pediatric cancer patients and their families. TMBA installed an IP mega-pixel video monitoring system covering all public areas of the Ronald McDonald House N.Y.'s facility located at 405 East 73rd St. The organization's objective was to install a security system which would help keep the house residents safe, as well as support its real estate investment and property value-related goals. TMBA worked in concert with Mel Farrell, chief building engineer for The House. With the installation of the new video monitoring and recording system, the House is now able to perform the same monitoring tasks with fewer staff members and contain labor-related overhead costs. Additionally, with the use of the new leading-edge technology, the House has achieved a heightened level of security for the resident children and their families, as well as its staff, due to improved monitoring. This is particularly important since the organization serves critically-ill children for whom effective monitoring and quick response is essential in the event of a medical emergency. The actual video monitoring system consists of various components, including: IP mega-pixel cameras with Power over Ethernet (POE) capabilities, and video management software for instant video streaming, recording and managing the cameras from multiple locations in the building. The components used are those of leading video surveillance and technology manufacturers. The Ronald McDonald House New York is not the first Ronald McDonald House served by TMBA. The company also installed a sophisticated building management system (BMS) for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island in New Hyde Park, NY. About T.M. Bier & Associates T.M.
