Syska Hennessy welcomes Mezic

New York, NY Engineering firm Syska Hennessy has appointed John Mezic, PE, LEED AP, NFPA, as associate practice area director – facilities management and commissioning (FMCX). In his new role, Mezic will help expand the FMCX team in New York.

Previously, Mezic served as senior vice president at PMC Group One, an engineering consultancy that specializes in critical infrastructure. During his tenure there, he led a variety of projects, including data centers, trading floors, and high-rise office buildings for such clients as Nomura Securities, NatWest Markets, Cablevision, Warner Media, and National Grid. From 2004 to 2013, he served as the principal owner of Power Concepts, LLC, a company he co-founded in 1996.

“John is widely regarded as an expert in FMCX,” says Robert Ioanna, senior principal and head of Syska’s New York City office. “He is ideally suited to contribute to the growth of this practice and ensure that we can meet the rising demand for FMCX services that has resulted from the pandemic.”

Mezic received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Polytechnic University in New York. He is a licensed professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers and the U.S. Green Buildings Council.
