SWBR selected as associate architect for math and science bldg.

SWBR Architects has been selected by Nazareth College to design their new math and science building. SWBR will serve as associate architect for the project and is responsible for designing and detailing the building exterior, providing structural engineering services, landscape architecture and seeing the project through construction. SWBR is teamed with Burt-Hill Architects who will serve as lead architect of record, lab planner and mechanical, electrical engineer. Construction is expected to start in early 2011 and the new facility should be completed by summer 2012. This facility will be the first academic building constructed on Nazareth's campus in 30 years. To keep operational costs down, the math and science building will be designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver Rating. The five-story, 74,000 s/f building will represent a modern version of Collegiate Gothic style to complement the existing campus, including the adjacent Golisano Academic Center and Smyth Hall, which the build will sit in between. SWBR has vast experience with college campuses and is one of the leaders in campus architecture in the area. The firm's portfolio includes projects at The University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, Cornell University, Monroe Community College and SUNY Geneseo.
