Spandrel Property Services hires Torres as first-ever dir. of operations

Spandrel Property Services, Inc., a boutique real estate services firm specializing in property management, brokerage and developer related services, has hired Herminio Torres as its first-ever director of operations. Spandrel, which was founded to ensure the quality and integrity of its own developments, created this new position, to be filled by Torres, in order to assist the firm with its recent commitment to grow its business with third-party developers and building owners while continuing to oversee its own portfolio. "Spandrel is in the unique position to offer unparalleled expertise and dedication to its regional and national clientele because of its experience developing and managing its own residential and commercial properties," said Spandrel founder and president Ian Levine. "Herminio's diverse experience managing various properties, along with his strong operational and compliance background, is a natural fit. We believe that his talent will be a tremendous asset to Spandrel as it enters into new business relationships." Torres is a 10-year industry veteran who recently served as property manager for Jerome Belson Associates. While there, Torres participated in the high profile $940 million buyout of over 4,000 Mitchell-Lama units over five developments. Also during his tenure at Jerome Belson, Torres managed the complex operations of a 405-unit luxury residential development, among many other accomplishments. "I look forward to drawing on my previous professional experience to assist Spandrel in effectively managing its own and third-party properties, and to achieve the firm's objectives of growth and new business development," said Torres, who graduated magna cum laude from the New York University Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service with a Masters of Arts in Public Administration. "I am particularly thrilled to be aligned with such a well-regarded firm."
