Shypula and Maldonado of Hoffmann Architects promoted to project coordinators

Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, has promoted members of their technical staff. Kara Shypula, Assoc. AIA has been promoted from project representative to project coordinator. As a part of project teams in the firm's New York office, Shypula is responsible for conducting condition assessments, preparing drawings and specifications, and providing project management services for building envelope rehabilitation, including roof repairs and replacement, facade restoration, and plaza/terrace waterproofing. Her recent projects include work at the Broad Exchange Building, Bank of New York Mellon, Lexington Avenue Armory, and 1540 Broadway. Shypula earned a bachelor of science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from the University of Hartford. She lives in Manhattan. Marcos Maldonado has been promoted to project coordinator. Formerly a project representative with the firm, Maldonado provides building condition assessments, develops design details, and prepares contract documents for building envelope projects in the greater New York area, including work for Citigroup, Stony Brook University Medical Center, and Columbia University. Maldonado holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. He lives in New York.
