Sourcing the many materials, including 11 different tiles and stones, during the 20-week build-out presented one the project's biggest accomplishments for Shawmut. The team's scope of work on the 8,000 s/f, 200-seat seafood restaurant included:
* Installing a 12 x 3 ft. white onyx framed reflecting pool—one of the largest such installations in an area restaurant in more than 50 years.
* Laying reflective white marble floors and tiles and installing custom-grooved sandstone walls and columns that represents rocks soaring out of the water.
* Building the entrance that symbolizes the ribs of ship's hull.
* Fashioning a range of different tiles and stones to create an aesthetic that complements the wood accents.
* Creating an onyx backlit bar that allows the veins and markings of the stone to show through.
