Manhattan, NY SCG Retail, a division of The Shopping Center Group, has signed a 1,364 s/f lease for CityRow at 1409 Third Ave., the south east corner of 80th St.

CityRow was an instant hit when it opened in Union Sq. The move uptown will leverage the tremendous demographics. The space works well and the corner provides great visibility. CityRow is much more than just rowing. Alternating intervals on a specially designed row machine deliver a triple threat workout: high-intensity sweat, low-impact burn, total body results.

Founded by Helaine Knapp, a high tech executive, who saw came up with the concept after growing frustrated with boot-camp type workouts. CityRow has garnered a lot of positive publicity. The fitness company’s celeb following includes supermodel Iman, Kelly Bensimon and Fred Savage.

Jacqueline Klinger and Taryn Brandes of SCG Retail represented CityRow. The landlord of 1409 Third Ave. is INT Realty LLC and was represented by Jill Lovatt from Cushman & Wakefield and David Kriss of David S. Kriss Realty, Inc.

SCG Retail is currently seeking similar quality space throughout the metro region for CityRow.
