Sam Schwartz Engineering promotes Toole to GM

Sam Schwartz Engineering (SSE) revealed the promotion of Laura Toole to general manager of the New York City office. Toole is also a senior principal with the firm. Toole joined SSE in January 2013 as vice president and director of business development. Erich Arcement P.E., PTOE, senior vice president, steps away from his prior general management role in order to take charge of major projects in the New York City office. As general manager, Toole is responsible for the full provision of growth and development of SSE in the New York service area, including traffic engineering, transportation planning, transit, public involvement, and construction inspection services. "The company's hallmark, our staff's talent and dedication to serving client needs with smart, pragmatic ideas and solutions, is deeply embedded in the SSE New York operation." said Toole. "Working in business development, Laura has been an invaluable resource for our company," said Samuel Schwartz, P.E., president and CEO. "Given Laura's management experience, we expect a seamless transition." Toole contributes 30 years of broad-based experience in business development, marketing, public involvement, and executive management to SSE. She also serves as a board member of the Women's Transportation Seminar Foundation and was formerly President of Michael Baker Engineering, Inc. of White Plains, NY. She is a graduate of Vassar College.
