Ruzzier, West and Robertson join TPG Architecture

New York, NY TPG Architecture, one of the largest architectural firms based in New York, has hired Mark Ruzzier, AIA, as an associate and senior project manager, Doug West as a design director and Laura Robertson as a senior designer. Ruzzier brings with him a high level of enthusiasm and creativity along with 23 years of experience across a broad spectrum of market sectors including restoration, retail, hospitality, corporate interiors and planning.  As a member of The Berger Studio, Ruzzier will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of a project. He oversees and coordinates the efforts of various project teams that include TPG staff, consultants, client stakeholders and vendors. His client roster includes ICC/FCB, Navigant and ABM. In addition to being the liaison between the client and the project team, Mark is fiscally responsible for the project and tasked with working with the build team to deliver the project on time and on budget. Prior to joining TPG Ruzzier worked at firms that included Gensler, Perkins Eastman and most recently Huntsman Architectural Group where he was a senior project manager. With over 17 years of professional experience, West is a certified interior designer and a LEED Accredited Professional.  In his new role in The Hughes Studio at TPG, West will take a client-driven approach with an emphasis on listening and understanding client’s needs and constraints, then developing an initial planning and programming strategy that responds to each situation. He seeks clarity and transparency in the design process so that clients are clear about both the design they’ll live in and the process they’ll to go through to get it. By observing how users touch, sit, feel, react to and move in space, West can more keenly determine details such as custom millwork and furniture design options. He believes in making good decisions for future generations and practices sustainable design strategies wherever possible. He also teaches a class about sustainable design at NYSID. West sees the office environment as a great opportunity to enrich, enliven and improve people’s lives. Robertson is a certified interior designer and an accredited LEED professional specializing in interior design and construction. She joins TPG as a senior designer in The Berger Studio, where she brings her experience and knowledge of designing tech, media, finance, law and communications offices to a broad range of clients. Robertson prides herself on meticulous project completion, going beyond punch-list to collect post-occupancy metrics on productivity, attendance and performance, often maintaining client relationships well beyond the end of a project. An excellent time manager, Robertson will be supervising junior and intermediate level designers, helping to deliver creativity within tight project schedules. Previously, Robertson was a Senior Designer at MKDA, an architectural and interiors firm.
