RKF recently arranged a long-term lease with home textile retailer Ankasa, which is currently located at 135 East 65th St., for the last remaining space at 1200 Madison Ave., located on the west side of the block between 87th and 88th Sts. This deal marks the completion of RKF's leasing assignment at 1200 Madison Ave.
This 1,420 s/f space is comprised of 1,100 s/f on the ground level and 320 s/f in the basement. The new Upper East Side store, formerly occupied by Premier Cru Wine, is scheduled to open this fall.
"RKF did a great job in realizing the vision we had in the transformation of our ground-floor retail space from service-type tenants to great fashion retailers, which has created a new fashion district on Madison Avenue above 86th Street," said Marc Yassky of 1200 Tenant Corp., the landlord of the retail space.
RKF managing director Beth Rosen and senior director Brandon Singer represented the landlord, while Crown Retail Services' Jordan Barker represented the tenant.

"Our latest deal with Ankasa at 1200 Madison Ave. completes our leasing assignment at the property. We are thrilled with the tenant mix at the building, which includes crewcuts, Margo Manhattan, Jack Rogers, and Joie," said Rosen.

Neighboring co-tenants include Brooks Brothers, Dean & Deluca, Williams-Sonoma, Jacadi, The Shoe Box, Tumi, Barbour, LeSportsac, agnes b., and Coach among others.

Ankasa is a home decor company created by the husband and wife design team, Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia. The line features an array of exclusive pillows, luxury bedding, totes, furniture and accessories, as well as offering interior design services. The textile brand first opened its flagship boutique at 135 East 65th St. on the Upper East Side and continues to feature its signature furnishings in a number of regional retailers nationwide.
