REBNY unveils real estate industry leaders to be honored at 123rd Annual Banquet

NEW YORK, NY The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) announced the distinguished leaders who will be presented with top honors for their outstanding professional success and exceptional contributions to the industry at REBNY’s 123rd Annual Banquet to be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the New York Hilton in Midtown Manhattan.

“The REBNY Banquet is more than a celebration of real estate’s best and brightest. It is an acknowledgement of how important our industry is to New York and how much we love this city. The honorees reflect the kind of excellence and dedication that we all strive for. They have made exceptional contributions to both the real estate industry and our entire city,” said REBNY chairman William Rudin.

“The REBNY Banquet is real estate’s most important evening of the year,” said REBNY president John  Banks. “The event brings the whole industry together for a night of making connections and catching up with friends and colleagues. This REBNY banquet will be a great celebration of excellence, dedication, and public service that is represented by each of our distinguished honorees,” said John H. Banks, REBNY President.

The following award winners will be recognized at the largest annual real estate networking event in New York City:

Daniel Tishman, principal and vice chairman of Tishman, will receive The Harry B. Helmsley Distinguished New Yorker Award, which is presented to an industry member for their invaluable contributions to New York’s civic welfare and the real estate community.

Diane Ramirez, chairman and CEO of Halstead Real Estate, will receive The Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Leadership in Real Estate Award for her exceptional accomplishments in the profession, leadership, and service to the real estate industry over the course of her distinguished career.

Carol Kellermann, president of the Citizens Budget Commission, will receive The John E. Zuccotti Public Service Award. This award recognizes a New Yorker who has displayed exceptional accomplishments and service in the public's interest.

Helena Rose Durst, a principal at The Durst Organization, will receive The Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award, which recognizes a REBNY member’s meritorious service to the community.

Bernard Warren, chairman and president of Webb & Brooker, will receive The George M. Brooker Management Executive of the Year Award, which recognizes individuals of superior accomplishment in property management based on outstanding professionalism, civic achievement, and contributions to the real estate industry.

Ira Fishman, a Partner at HSP Real Estate Group, will receive The Louis Smadbeck Memorial Broker Recognition Award, which celebrates a commercial broker with exceptional personal and professional integrity, leadership, prominence in the brokerage community, and service to REBNY’s committees.

Alex Bernstein, executive vice president/new business at Bernstein Real Estate Group, will receive The Young Real Estate Professional of the Year Award. This award is selected by the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association of New York and presented to a member who exemplifies strong integrity, professionalism, and personal ethics.

REBNY Banquet dinner attendees will have an opportunity, for the first time ever, to experience the REBNY Lounge, an intimate networking space with an open bar. The REBNY Lounge will be an ideal location, right outside the Grand Ballroom, for networking and deal making before and after dinner.

REBNY will also present an educational video on the Transformation of New York’s Retail Landscape at the Banquet.
