REBNY and The Durst Organization
celebrate LEED Platinum certification

Manhattan, NY The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and The Durst Organization said that the trade association’s office renovation at 570 Lexington achieved LEEDv4 Interior Design and Construction certification at the Platinum level, the highest level of LEED certification. This prestigious certification, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), highlights REBNY’s commitment to sustainability, wellness and environmental excellence. REBNY pursued this certification with the generous support from The Durst Organization. A celebration to mark this milestone was held at REBNY’s office last month and featured remarks from The Durst Organization chairman Douglas Durst, REBNY president James Whelan and representatives from CodeGreen Solutions and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The celebration provided an overview of the 19,000 s/f office renovation and its key sustainability achievements.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally recognized green building certification system that evaluates the health, efficiency, and environmental performance of a building and encourages market transformation towards more sustainable practices. The essential LEED areas for this certification include location and transportation, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. Achieving LEED certification underscores REBNY’s commitment to sustainability, promoting a healthier work environment for its employees and members and supporting New York City’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint. REBNY engaged CodeGreen Solutions as its LEED Consultant. Achieving all the milestones required effective collaboration and expertise from the entire project team.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian
