Racanelli Construction honored by NY State Education Dept.

Melville, NY Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. was named among 53 employers recognized by the New York State Education Department as an Employer of Individuals with Disabilities. The honor was bestowed in conjunction with National Disability Employment Awareness Month which is October. This year’s recognition program theme is “Advancing Access and Equity” reflecting the importance of ensuring that individuals with disabilities have full access to employment opportunities and community involvement. As part of this objective, the State Education Department’s Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCESS-VR) program hosted events throughout October to recognize employers like Racanelli Construction.

Racanelli Construction’s director of marketing Carmine Martuscello said, “We are extremely proud of this honor regarding our support of individuals with disabilities. Our employees with disabilities have proven to be among our best and while we are being recognized for hiring them, we believe they are the ones who deserve the recognition for their outstanding contributions to our business and for the inspiration they give to all of us. They are great team members and dedicated employees.”

In discussing National Disability Employment Awareness Month, board of regents chancellor Lester Young, Jr. said, “National Disability Awareness Month celebrates the valuable contributions of people with disabilities in the workforce, highlighting their skills while promoting inclusivity and equity. Congratulations to this year’s honorees representing 53 business across New York State These awardees have created work environments that recognize and utilize employees’ unique and diverse abilities, creating more inclusive and accessible workplaces for all.”
