Melville, NY Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. has added five new employees to its company. The employees include: Steven Gargano as an assistant project manager, Nelly Fuentes as an assistant project manager/administrator, Laurine Peppers as an assistant estimator, Dana Norris as an administrator and Tanuja Singh Duffy as an assistant project manager/administrator.
In Gargano’s new position, he will apply his skills and technical training in construction management. He graduated from Farmingdale State College in May 2015 with a bachelor of science degree. He majored in Technical Studies with a concentration in
Construction Management.
During his higher education, he successfully completed several courses relating to his new role at Racanelli Construction, including those
covering auto CAD (computer aided design), materials and methods of construction, project management and scheduling, surveying and costing, and government building, environmental codes and regulations.
While pursuing his degree, Gargano served as an intern with New York Design Architects, a role through which he gained first-hand experience of a project under construction, redlines and the operations of the New York City Department of Buildings.
Fuentes brings to the role career experience spanning multiple sectors of the construction industry, as well as industry-related technical skills including proficiency is estimating-on screen takeoffs and auto CAD (computer-aided design), and broad computer skills.
Directly prior to joining to Racanelli Construction, Fuentes served as an assistant project manager with Island Acoustics. Her role
encompassed: coordination with subcontractors; generating project submittals, RFIs and subcontracts; maintaining schedules and logs; drafting; and estimating- on screen takeoffs. In addition to this position, she served as an estimator/administrator with Nunzio & Sons Tile with responsibility for project estimates, proposal generation and supplier coordination. She also held an estimator/sales representative position with Gem Marble and served as a Receptionist for DNA Site Work.
Fuentes earned her bachelor of Construction Management Engineering from Farmingdale State College and an Associate of Architecture, Construction Technology from Suffolk County Community College. Additionally, she holds the OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
Peppers brings over 20 years of senior-level experience in the construction industry having held positions in estimating, project management, administration and human resources.
Directly prior to joining Racanelli Construction, Peppers served as an estimator/project management assistant with Venetian Construction. In this temporary position, she interfaced with the company’s architects, estimators and subcontractors in tasks ranging from printing drawings, following up on subcontractor proposals and preparation of project proposals and sealed bids, to creating purchase orders, and assisting with change orders and submittals.
Peppers’ career also included her role as an estimator assistant with JRM Construction Management, creating ftp links and input drawings, preparing trades lists, managing subcontractor proposals, preparing project proposals and sealed bid and creating leveling sheets for purchase orders. Additionally, she was an administrative assistant with MDA Contracting, a human resources coordinator with The Tyree Organization and a corporate executive assistant with P.C. Richard & Son.
Norris will apply her over 12 years of office administration and customer service experience in her new position. Before joining Racanelli Construction, Norris served as an administrative assistant with Almar Tax Service, where her role involved client liaison, preparation and timely distribution of tax grievances, collections and document management.
Additionally, she was a customer service representative with both P.C. Richard & Son and Medfone Nationwide Inc. Her career experience also includes her role as a receptionist with Island Digestive Disease Consultants and as a clerical assistant with AVIS Budget Group.
Norris holds an associate of arts degree from Suffolk Community College.
Duffy brings 15 years of construction industry experience and diverse skills such as preparation of bids, field coordination, subcontractor negotiations and maintaining project schedules and logs. Most recently, Duffy served as project management assistant with Leader Electric, where her role involved generating electrical service work proposals, preparing proposals and change orders, maintaining logs (i.e., Certificates of Occupancy, drawings and RFIs), and tracking and reporting on service work.
Duffy’s related career experience also included her role as an estimating assistant with RC Dolner where her responsibilities ranged from generating scope of work, bid comparison sheets and bid packages, to subcontractor negotiations, preparation of contracts and take-offs. Additionally, she was an assistant project manager with S. DiGiacomo & Sons, DKS Construction and Builders Group.
Duffy graduated from Union College with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
