PWC NY’s Annual Salute to Women of Achievement Gala to be held September 23rd

Manhattan, NY Registration is open for the Professional Women in Construction New York (PWC NY) Annual Salute to Women of Achievement Gala, taking place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at The Edison Ballroom. 

At this year’s gala, PWC NY is proud to honor three industry leaders alongside the highly anticipated Project of the Year. 

“Salute to Women of Achievement is a true celebration of PWC NY’s mission. Each year, we honor women who have made an outstanding impact on the AEC industry: their achievements, determination and most importantly, the space they create for others to rise up as they strive to make this industry more diverse.” said Gina Grande Rivera, executive director.

PWC NY is proud to recognize this year’s honorees:

Marie Cardoza, CEO, Cardoza Plumbing; Joanne Iddon, principal, Arup; and Jacquelene McCarthy, director of Aviation Redevelopment, PANYNJ.

PWC NY is proud to acknowledge this year’s recipient of the Salute Project Award:

The Brooklyn Bridge Rehabilitation – Pullman

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York City’s most recognizable landmarks and a vital transportation corridor connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. Led by the New York City Department of Transportation, this comprehensive, multi-year rehabilitation project preserved the bridge’s historic character while strengthening its structural systems and extending its service life for future generations.

We were delighted to receive a strong group of submissions for this year’s award. After careful deliberation, our selection committee is pleased to announce The Brooklyn Bridge Rehabilitation as the recipient of this honor and to celebrate Pullman’s contribution to women’s legacy in the construction industry.

Women held significant leadership roles throughout this complex project. Key contributors included Jacqueline Bascetta, senior project manager, as well as project managers Megan Sanchez and Maggie Murray. Priscilla Rocco also served as a key mechanic and helped lead night-shift crews while representing Local 1 PCC. Their work spanned estimating, bid negotiations, construction management, coordination, scheduling, logistics, historic restoration, and field operations. Women leaders from NYC DOT, ICR, Li/Saltzman, Jablonski Building Conservation, and Dianne Kaese of Kaese Architecture also contributed essential expertise to the project’s success.

The rehabilitation reflects the lasting impact of women in construction, from Emily Roebling’s leadership during the bridge’s original construction to the women helping restore this structure 150 years later. PWC NY is honored to recognize their achievements and the collaborative work of the entire project team.
