Property of the Month: RYBAK Development debuts The VUE: One of the first LEED certified green condominiums in South Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY After a decade of consistent growth, RYBAK Development is completing The VUE Waterfront Condominium Development at 1809 Emmons Ave., one of South Brooklyn’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) targeted buildings. The global benchmark for high performance buildings, LEED recognizes only “Best-in-Class” construction practices through a stringent set of criteria across every facet from design to execution. As a result, The VUE will provide its residents and community with the healthiest possible living environment, a minimized carbon footprint, and substantial savings in energy, water, and waste.

RYBAK Development’s largest mixed-use development to date, the 175,000 s/f waterfront mixed-use property will offer 58 oversized one, two and three-bedroom condominiums above 26,000 s/f of retail space and public plaza. Construction involved the realization of a bold design and wide range of amenities including the building’s sky deck and pool rooftop lounge overlooking the ocean, the bay, and city skyline. The VUE’s retail space is poised to make the building the Sheepshead Bay destination.

A leader in South Brooklyn real estate, RYBAK Development has acquired, developed, managed, and erected over 1.9 million s/f of habitable space in the New York metropolitan area while remaining lean, agile, and focused on managing every aspect of development and construction in-house. The firm’s multi-disciplined team of leading professionals faced the added challenge of constructing the first green building in a market segment requiring economical construction.

“LEED is world class because it demands the highest standard at every turn,” said CEO/president Sergey Rybak. “The way you temper and filter air, the energy equipment you use, your insulation, your noise mitigation, materials and practices, you are accountable for everything. This is a new standard of building that improves the well-being of the residents and the community like never before, and ultimately increases the structure’s longevity. It’s good for everyone. It’s the future of construction.”

The project demonstrates the trajectory with which RYBAK Development continues to grow. The firm has the ability to assist in any stage of the construction process and takes pride in its commitment to delivering superior, efficient, and innovative construction of increasingly ambitious real estate projects.

Most people think of St. Patrick’s Day as a fun footnote on the calendar. In construction logistics, however, it’s a full-scale operational variable — especially if your work touches major metro areas with major parades and, let’s call it what it is, enthusiastic celebrants.
