New York, NY Professional Women in Construction (PWC) ended the year with its annual holiday party on December 10th at Bryant Park Grill. The event featured “20 women under 40” that were honored for their early professional achievements. PWC members and supporters gathered to celebrate these women and further the shared mission of empowering women and promoting diversity in the construction industry. The evening was a success, with 27 sponsoring companies and all tickets sold out. To view the 2019 yearbook with honorees, sponsors, and supporters: https://www.pwcusa.org/event/holidayparty2019/

The success of the event was representative of the tremendous growth PWC New York has experienced in 2019, with an increase of over 40% in membership. In 2019, PWC members had the opportunity to network and learn from over 1,000 professionals in the industry through panels, workshops, committee meetings, and other events. Members also had the opportunity to attend events in other PWC chapters, located in Boston, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. The New York chapters plans to continue to expand member benefits in 2020 through additional committee programming and events. It is thanks to the dedication of PWC members and sponsors that make this growth possible.

PWC New York is the founding chapter of Professional Women in Construction (PWC), a national nonprofit organization founded in 1980 that seeks to support, advance, and connect women and promote diversity within the architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) and related industries. PWC’s members represent a broad spectrum of the industry that serves real estate owners, developers, facilities and property managers and public agencies. They include general construction and specialty contractors, architectural and engineering firms, environmental services, and suppliers. Because their core client industries have many needs, PWC also draws representatives from the services sector: law and accounting firms, insurance/surety and bonding companies, banks and financial services, graphic designers, printers, computer consultants, travel agencies, marketing specialists and more. Membership is open to professional women and men, private companies and public agencies in construction and allied industries.
