Pinnacle Environmental greens its corporate operations with solar panels

August 19, 2011 - Green Buildings
According to Pinnacle Environmental Corp., the company has made great progress in their commitment to green their business operations. As an environmental contractor, the company has committed to doing its part to reducing its carbon footprint as well as reducing its dependency on fossil fuels. This challenging in an industry that relies on trucks for deliveries, however; Pinnacle is committed to doing its part.
The company is installing solar panels on the roof of its main facility. Pinnacle recently had the roof replaced and as part of a capital improvement to the building, the company opted to install solar panels on the new roof. The roof is a large flat roof unencumbered by trees or surrounding high-rise buildings, which lends itself perfectly to solar panel installation and operation. Amberjack Solar Energy handled the installation of the solar panels.
When Pinnacle took ownership of the building in 2009, it was completely renovated with the exception of the roof. All new energy-efficient HVAC and lighting were installed. Heat and air conditioning are zone controlled using programmable thermostats preset at comfortable yet moderate temperatures.
One quarter of the Pinnacle management team (2 out of 8) also drive hybrid vehicles. Pinnacle will continue to make additional changes, within their everyday operations, to further green their operations.
