Name: Mark Dettenrieder Title: Director of Estimating Company: Trinity Building + Construction Management Location: Wilmington, MA Place of birth: Tribes Hill, N.Y. Family: I have (2) brothers, mother and father and a lot of extended family in New York. College: Bachelors of science in Construction Management & Engineering; Arizona State University. First job unrelated to your current field: I worked on the grounds crew for a country club, mowing greens, fairways, etc... First job in current field: I worked for a general contractor in Arizona while in college, as a project engineer, on a large water treatment facility being constructed in the suburbs of Phoenix, AZ. It was during that time that I 100% knew I wanted to work in the construction industry. The satisfaction that you feel knowing that you were involved in the construction of such a dynamic project and seeing the final results of that hard work is really gratifying. What your firm does now and its plans for the future? Trinity provides clients with a wide range of construction management and general contracting services, focusing on the hospitality, restaurant, retail, and corporate segments of the commercial construction market. Due to the hard work and dedication of the employees here, Trinity is one of the fastest growing private companies in Mass. These honors recognize our skill in managing a rapidly-growing company while creating business strategies that have led us to success in a highly competitive business environment. Hobbies: I love to ski during the winters, hike during the summers, and travel when I can. The Caribbean Islands are a favorite destination on mine. I also love to cook, golf, go to sporting events and hang out with family and friends. Favorite novel: "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. "When you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true." This is the core of the novel's philosophy. Favorite film: "Pulp Fiction," a Tarantino classic. Keys to success: Dedication, hard work, enthusiasm for what you do. I follow a simple quote: "The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary." Person(s) you most admire (outside of family): Sir Isaac Newton - for his enormous contributions to science and mathematics. Benjamin Franklin - an incredible individual who was a virtuoso in too many ways to keep track. Albert Einstein- pure genius. If you had to choose a different profession, what would it be? I love what I do, but if I had to choose a different profession, I probably would go to Med School to become a surgeon or an eye doctor.
