Pavarini McGovern's recent completion of construction on the Setai Fifth Avenue Hotel and Residences (Setai) earned the CM an A/E/C industry award for construction of the mixed-use high-rise. According to the Greater New York Construction User Council (GNYCUC) it was a "crowded field" for nominations, but the high profile address and outstanding craftsmanship, contributed to the project's win in the Hospitality category as top project for 2011.
Pavarini McGovern was hired by developers Bizzi & Partners to manage construction of the $310 million, five-star hotel and condominium project at 400 Fifth Ave. The CM led a stellar group of construction trade contractors, building the unique, angled window-design for the façade that catches the light and is sympathetic to the nearby Empire State Building.
Everything about the Setai demanded the utmost in project delivery, from the quality expectations of the developers to the safety demands of a complex construction site on the congested Fifth Ave. site. Pavarini McGovern's strong tradition of highest quality construction was again accomplished at the Setai, in moving seamlessly from setting foundations - and expectations - to custom high-end finishes.
Pavarini McGovern has a knack for developing creative solutions and for delivering superior project management through a "hands-on" approach, which involves the participation of the company's most senior management. The Setai was constructed on a logistically challenging site, which required fluidity and a more ingenious approach to project management. Fascinating video of the Setai's concrete pour cycle, implemented with an aggressive schedule of two and a half floors per week, was featured on the History Channel's "Jobsite: Concrete Countdown" in the spring of 2009.
The Setai's heavily-trafficked midtown Manhattan corner was a critical factor for Pavarini McGovern, which has a philosophy of "zero tolerance" for safety infractions that begins with CEO and president, Eric
McGovern and is of utmost importance on any Pavarini McGovern project. Anthony Cosenza, project executive for the Setai said, "Due to the high profile site we supported the efforts of our corporate safety director, who has been with the company since it started, by including two full-time safety managers beginning in the superstructure phase. This was so we could enforce safety measures and ensure construction proceeded in a safe manner and to protect the public and our personnel."
Pavarini McGovern, is a member of the Structure Tone organization and is the "new building" construction affiliate of the Structure Tone organization in New York City. Pavarini McGovern is widely recognized as an industry leader and expert in planning, developing and constructing the most difficult and complex construction projects.
