Par Group launches Par Green Solutions; Skidell named managing director

The Par Group has formed Par Green Solutions, a single-source resource for owners and managers seeking to increase the energy-efficiency and sustainability of commercial, residential, retail and institutional properties. The Par Group, privately owned and operated since 1928, is a provider of plumbing, mechanical and fire protection services. The company is dedicated to preserving and building its distinguished reputation for professionalism and reliability. "This new division enables us to help our clients reduce their energy and water consumption and cost, which will, in turn, reduce costs as well as to reduce their carbon footprint, comply with new legislation, obtain available grants, rebates and tax incentives as well as position their buildings as energy efficient and sustainable," said David Levine, principal of The Par Group. Neil Skidell has been appointed managing director at Par Green Solutions and brings over 20 years of experience in the development of forward thinking, environmentally responsible projects to his role. As a mechanical engineer, he has spent extensive time developing power and cogeneration plants as well as strategic energy management projects in the U.S., Europe, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. He has experience in all energy systems and spent 10 years at the engineering firm of Jaros, Baum & Bolles. Most recently, he was part of the commissioning team at 1 Bryant Park, and he serves as a member of the American Society of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineers (ASHRAE), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). "Neil has worked designing, developing and commissioning high performance building systems for over two decades, and his extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems will provide tremendous benefit to our clients as they navigate the inevitable transition of existing buildings from inefficient energy consumers designed in a different era to high performance buildings," said Levine. Beginning with a complimentary energy survey and consultation, Neil and his team work with owners to identify and integrate sustainability into their businesses to increase both financial returns and environmental benefits from ongoing operations. These services are designed to help his clients identify beneficial projects without any up-front expenditure. By offering a variety of financing options including short and long term loans, leasing, and innovative payment programs based on projected savings Par Green Solutions enables clients to pursue projects, including needed equipment replacement, that may not have been otherwise possible in today's economic climate. "Par Green Solutions builds on the internal capabilities of the Par Group to deliver projects utilizing a seamless turn-key process. All services and trades required to successfully complete each project we undertake are provided under the Par umbrella with the building owner having a single point of contact," said Skidell. "By integrating front-end analyses and green building consulting services into a turn-key integrated project delivery methodology we deliver the highest quality service at the lowest overall cost helping our clients save money" About The Par Group The Par Group, privately owned and operated since 1928, is New York's preeminent provider of plumbing, mechanical and fire protection services.
