Orange County Ptrsp. approves Poly Craft project

Middletown, NY Poly Craft Industries, an advanced manufacturer, and printer of laminated and non-laminated plastic products has received final approval from the city’s planning board. The project will be located on Industrial Place, a key industrial corridor in the city. Poly Craft manufactures plastic products for nationally recognized brands, such as Jelly Belly, Serta Mattress, and Whole Foods.

The Orange County Partnership has begun to shift their focus toward attracting “strategic sectors,” including the advanced manufacturing sector. The $30 million project will create approximately 100 new jobs with an average salary of $65,000.

“Poly Craft is a perfect example of the type of sector that we’re trying to grow in Orange County. Manufacturing projects such as this one will have long-term benefits beyond tax revenue, new jobs, and investment. It will reinforce and bolster the growing innovation ecosystem in Orange County and the Hudson Valley,” said Maureen Halahan, president and CEO of the Orange County Partnership.

Conor Eckert, vice president of Business Attraction at the Orange County Partnership said, “the Poly Craft project is an undeniable, momentum-building win for the county. This project will create good-paying jobs in the manufacturing sector, a sector that we are prioritizing in our economic development strategy. Let this project serve as a clear message to both companies and site selectors alike, we stand ready to support the manufacturing sector in Orange County.”

Joseph DeStefano, mayor of the city said, “Poly Craft will be a positive addition to the community. The new jobs, investment, and tax rateables will benefit the city for years to come. We have a talented workforce, thriving downtown, and desirable quality of life that makes Middletown a great location to locate a business.”
