Opper elevated to executive VP at CBRE

New York, NY According to CBRE Group, Inc., David Opper, a 20-year CBRE veteran, has been promoted to executive vice president.

Known for his client relationships and strategic expertise, Opper combines interpersonal and analytical skills to deliver exceptional outcomes. He recently relocated to 200 Park from CBRE’s Saddle Brook office.

“David is poised to take his N.J. success and expand it into the N.Y.C. market,” said Matthew Van Buren, president, CBRE Northeast Division.

“We’re pleased to welcome him to our Midtown office.”

Focusing on the New Jersey Waterfront submarket, Opper completed a number of standout transactions in 2015, such as Bank of America’s 117,000 s/f. renewal, Brown Brothers Harriman’s 115,000 s/f relocation and Tradeweb’s 65,000 s/f renewal. Some of his multi-market clients include Quest Diagnostics, BASF, Merck, Hertz, Citizen Watch, NEC and Mercedes Benz. Also, as the New Jersey member of CBRE’s Law Firm Practice Group, he has completed transactions on behalf of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman; LeclairRyan; and K&L Gates. On the landlord side, Opper has represented owners, including Mack Cali, L&L Holding Company, SL Green, Cornerstone and Invesco.

“I call him one of the most thoughtful and strategic brokers in terms of advising his clients for success,” said Jeff Hipschman, CBRE senior managing director, New Jersey. “It’s great to see him challenging himself by jumping to a new and exciting environment where he can continue to excel.”

Among his many honors, Opper’s team recently took home the NAIOP Economic Impact Deal of the Year for LG Electronics’ new North American headquarters. In 2010, he was selected for Real Estate Forum’s 40 Under 40. On multiple occasions Opper was also chosen as CBRE’s New Jersey Broker of the Year.
