BGRE unveils 37,000 s/f amenity center underway at One Liberty by design firm HLW

Manhattan, NY BGRE has made known construction is underway for a new, premier amenity center at One Liberty. The hospitality-driven tenant amenity center is the latest investment that builds on the ongoing transformation of the 53-story, 2.3 million s/f office tower.

Spanning 37,000 s/f and designed by international architecture and design firm HLW, the amenity center will feature fitness center, conference and training rooms, as well as a café and feature bar. There will be an emphasis on hospitality-inspired gathering spaces that have been designed to support meetings, client engagement and tenant events. Construction began in June and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2027.

“The new amenity center at One Liberty is a strategic investment that reflects Brookfield’s long-term commitment to design excellence as well as curating an unparalleled workplace experience that positions One Liberty for continued success,” said Alex Liscio, senior vice president at BGRE. “In collaboration with HLW, we have created a destination that elevates the everyday office experience and delivers the high-quality amenities that resonate with today’s leading businesses as they focus on attracting and motivating top talent.”

“Our concept for One Liberty Plaza brings the elevated feel of a high-end hospitality destination into the workplace, drawing on New York City’s energy and sophistication to create an immersive amenity experience that tenants will seek out,” said Paul Wang, associate principal at HLW. “Richly layered materials, curated lighting, and biophilic elements create a warm, welcoming environment designed to inspire connection, wellness, and productivity.”

One Liberty recently completed a dramatic lobby repositioning featuring double-height interior spaces, new finishes and the unveiling of A::Light, an interactive art installation by French contemporary artist Pierre Huyghe. The new amenity center represents the next phase of the property’s redevelopment and follows strong leasing momentum – with over 700,000 s/f of leasing activity completed thus far in 2026, including Cleary Gottlieb’s recent 475,000 s/f, 20-year lease extension.
