Olshan Properties promotes Howe as vice president of hotels and Richards as general manager

Olshan Properties, formerly MPI - Mall Properties Inc., has promoted two leading executives. Alan Howe has been named vice president of hotels for Olshan Properties while Carrie Richards, formerly director of operations at the hotel, now steps in for Howe as general manager. Richards will continue to report directly to Howe. "With 25 years of service with Olshan Properties and specifically Hilton Columbus at Easton, we consider Alan Howe one of our company's essential assets whose strong interpersonal and operational skills coupled with his capable management style and exceptional working knowledge of our portfolio makes him uniquely well poised to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our company as our newest vice president," said Olshan Properties CEO, Andrea Olshan. "We're also delighted to promote Carrie Richards to replace Alan as General Manager at the Hilton Columbus at Easton," said Olshan. "With her strong track record of driving performance at numerous properties, we're confident that the Hilton Columbus at Easton under her direction will continue to be one of the leading hotels in the Columbus market." During his career with Olshan Properties working for the division of the former MPI, which was known as Olshan Hotel Management, Inc., Alan Howe has served as both general manager of the Hilton Columbus at Easton and as the company's regional director for the Columbus, Ohio area overseeing the operations of the Residence Inn Columbus Easton and the Courtyard Columbus Easton. As vice president, Howe's new responsibilities now involve him directly in the development and day to day operations of Olshan Properties' hotel investments. A graduate of Cornell University's prestigious School of Hotel Administration Howe has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Columbus Lodging Council, the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association, Experience Columbus (Columbus' Convention and Visitor's Bureau), The Ohio State University Hospitality Advisory Board, as well as the Greater Columbus Soap Box Derby Association and the International Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. Richards joined the Hilton Columbus at Easton in 2005 as a rooms division director and has more than ten years of hotel management experience. Prior to joining Olshan Properties, she served as GM for Clarion Hotel in Dublin, OH and began her career in 1992 with Wyndham International for which she acted as general manager of four unique properties. Richards earned her bachelors in science from the University of Wisconsin, Stout in 1992.
