O'Neal of TONA appointed a CB6 chair

Terrence O'Neal, AIA, who has served Community Board 6 (CB6), representing the area east of Lexington Ave. from 14th to 59th St. since his 2009 appointment by Manhattan borough president Scott Stringer, was recently appointed CB6 chair of the Land Use & Waterfront Committee. O'Neal now heads the committee's review of land use issues and recommendations submitted to such government entities as the City Planning Commission and City Council. The CB6 Land Use Committee is currently studying plans for midtown modernization and development of the new East Side Riverfront Park. CB6 chair Mark Thompson, SVP at Capalino + Co., government relations/land use strategists, made the appointment. He said, "Terrence is the ideal choice to chair the Land Use & Waterfront Committee: he is wholly committed to the community; well-versed in urban planning, zoning and development; and a skilled, effective and experienced leader. He brings a high level of professionalism and collaboration that has already had a positive impact on the Committee's work and the service it provides to the City of New York. His leadership is continuing and strengthening the committee's vital role." O'Neal said, "The waterfront improvements will provide enhanced public access and interaction with the riverfront." O'Neal is the managing principal of Terrence O'Neal Architect LLC (TONA) which specializes in affordable housing, schools and healthcare facilities. TONA is certified as a Minority-owned Business Enterprise (MBE) by NYS and the city. For further information visit www.terrenceonealarchitect.com.
