NYSCAR to hold Annual Conference June 3-5

By Michael Johnson Annual Conference chairman John Lavelle (RJ Smith Realty) is pleased to announce that "Billy Procida" (Procida Funding and Advisors) will be the keynote speaker for the annual conference at Turning Stone Resort & Casino, Verona. Founder and CEO William Procida is an award-winning entrepreneur, funding and growing several firms since 1980. In addition to being an investment banker, Procida was also a nationally ranked general contractor and launched Palisades Financial, which quickly became one of the country's top performing fund managers. He has won several awards as a developer, including New York's prestigious Developer of the Year and the Governor's Excellence Award in Housing. The Annual Conference committee has been meeting via conference calls to plan to the "12th Annual NYS Commercial Real Estate Conference." The conference will be held at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, June 3-5. The program, featuring commercial courses, marketing session and great networking is shaping up to be an outstanding conference and we look forward to seeing you there! Instructor Ken Vidar, CCIM, is scheduled for the Hudson Valley Education session in April, teaching his "Creative Solutions" course. The annual Education and Marketing will be held April 10-11 at the Hyatt House in Fishkill, sponsored by NYSCAR and the Hudson Valley Chapter of NYSCAR. This is a great event every year, so mark your calendar and plan to attend! Vidar is skilled in the areas of commercial investment counseling, exchanges, mortgage financing, and property development. For six years Vidar was also an instructor for the commercial investment division of the NAR, teaching the courses leading to the "CCIM" designation, considered the Ph.D. of commercial investment real estate. Vidar is also a recognized speaker and seminar instructor, having taught his own authored seminars in the United States and Canada for many years. He is currently an instructor for the Education Foundation of the Society of Exchange Counselors. This course is geared towards real estate professionals in the commercial investment area and residential brokers who want to go beyond conventional buying and selling. 2013 Code of Ethics & Professional Standards Hearing Procedures Training You will gain a full understanding of the conduct of ethics and arbitration hearings, enforcement procedures and disciplinary guidelines. The Code of Ethics and the most recent changes adopted by NAR's board of directors or delegate body will also be covered. In addition to six hours of CE credit, this course also satisfies NAR's mandatory ethics training requirement for Realtors members. Patrick Reilly, RCE, NYSAR VP of board and member services will instruct the course on the following: Feb. 25 - Albany Marriott, Albany; and March 1, High Peaks Resort, Lake Placid.
